Car Exterior Detailing

Car Exterior Detailing After you get your car a full detailing on its interior, this now comes the detailing of the exterior parts of your car. This is not the typical detailing process that only includes simple wash and vacuum jobs. Here are tips for detailing a car’s exterior:

  1. Using a wheel cleaner or a wheel brush, brush off your car rims. The wheel rims are the dirtiest part since they accumulated grime, dirt and grease. You need to leave certain cleaning products on it for a while and let them penetrate on your wheel rims for at least a minute before you brush it off.
  2. Then, you need to wash the tires with a whitewall tire cleaner. After it, you can now apply a tire dressing. If you want to have a glossy finish, let your applied dressing soak on it or wipe it off and on with a cotton cloth.
  3. The electronic components should be wrapped in a plastic. Now, you can spray a degreaser on it and after which, you can spray it with a pressure washer.
  4. For the non-metal areas, you can dress it up with a rubber/vinyl protectant under the hood.
  5. When it comes to tinted windows, you need to be careful. Tinting is built in the windows themselves, but it is degradable and can suffer from cleaners containing vinegar and/or ammonia.
  6. In washing your car’s exterior, wash it off using car wash soap instead of a dish detergent. Go to a shady area and let it dry until you can touch it. You can use a deep-pile microfiber terrycloth towel that traps contaminants.
